Yay! Back in the saddle, again. Recently, my attention has been absorbed with wrapping up the final days of my beloved burlesque troupe of seven years — Kitty Kitty Bang Bang. Fortunately, in the meantime, I have also had the pleasure of mingling with a few maniacs and recruiting a few shady characters who are just brimming with strange talents and stranger ideas. To name but a few:
Mike Lee, "Golden Boy of American Radio", was a natural choice for a co-producer as he is my hubby and I have been kicking ideas back and forth with him for years! He is hilarious, supportive, super-handy, and, by extension, has played the role of off-and-on psuedo-co-producer for kitty and the inaugural year of the Texas Burlesque Fest.
Doryan Rice, whom I initially contacted because he is a wonderfully talented emcee and knew I had to have him in the show, has offered up his awesomeness as a producer, as well! Really looking forward to working with him and his people.
Priya Sircar, an insanely brilliant choreographer who I was fortunate enough to snag before she leaves for grad school in NYC. We had a blast taking some snapshots (above) and, most importantly, collaborating on a wonderful little klezmer ditty that is the inaugural performance piece of Flatbed Cabaret! I am very grateful that she’s been able to make her own special mark on flatbed before she takes off!
Looking forward to meeting more of you!
